Reflecting on the Impact of Digital Citizenship
As another five weeks of rapid digital learning come to a close, I feel it necessary to write a post in honor of my mantra for digital citizenship, my culminating presentation, and finally my reflection essay. It is always a joy to reach the finish line and share the fruit of my labors. I hope someone will find some inspiration in my work, and I can't wait to use my culminating project to help my students learn and grow as digital citizens. My mantra for digital citizenship is:
Digital citizenship education is the key to harmonious electronic communication.
These words are few and simple, but their impact is far-reaching, and following them could help to better the overall quality of online interactions for future generations.
In addition to the mantra, the information booklet for digital citizenship on my campus will be going to the printer this summer, and copies will be distributed to all students in the fall. The elements in the book are ones that we have been fighting for several years now, and I believe it will be helpful for students to have something in writing to refer back to when they are in need of a refresher. The information booklet is below:
As I sign off before a nice one-week break, I want to say thank you to EDLD 5316's professor, Dr. Ybarra. I enjoyed learning from her and appreciate the time she took to work with me. For those who are interested, my essay is posted below:
